The St Patrick's Service was written in the spring of 2017 for a "Come and Sing" Evensong in Armagh Cathedral, one of a number of events organised to celebrate St Patrick's Day in Ireland's ecclesiastical capital. The aim was to enthuse parish choirs to sing Choral Evensong again, and to provide them with music which they could take back to their parishes. Both vocal and organ parts are written with this in mind, thus the limited vocal range and an accompaniment which can be play on an instrument of one manual, with or without pedals.
These three pieces, setting well loved familiar texts, were written for choirs who cant guarantee a mix of SATB parts. They are flexibly scored
for Unison singing with an optional second part, and can be performed by SA, TB, ladies & men, or in any other suitable combination of voices.
They work well with school and community choirs as well as churches, and the range is chosen with mixed voices in mind.

are used at the blessing in the Irish BCP burial rite, and are suitable for funerals and memorial services, but equally for general use as a
reflective introit or concluding prayer.
